The Very Group , which operates digital retailers Very and Littlewoods, has received the accreditation from Henpicked: Menopause in the Workplace following an independent assessment of its employment policies, workplace culture, training programmes and support measures.
The assessment panel praised The Very Group for creating an inclusive and supportive environment and for its efforts to raise awareness of menopause across the business.
As part of that work, the retailer has introduced a menopause awareness guide and an e-learning module for all colleagues. Its women at Very colleague network, WAVE, also hosts regular events aimed at raising awareness and offering further support to employees, as well as teammates and family members seeking guidance.
Sarah Willett, chief people officer at The Very Group, said: “I’m extremely proud that we’ve been formally accredited as a menopause friendly employer.
“Here at Very, we work hard to foster an inclusive workplace where people feel welcomed, represented and valued through every stage of life. So, to receive recognition for our ongoing commitment from an organisation like Henpicked is such a meaningful milestone in our journey toward building a truly inclusive workplace.”
The Menopause Friendly Accreditation was established by Henpicked in 2021 to recognise employers that can demonstrate high standards and proven practices in supporting colleagues affected by menopause.
Deborah Garlick, chief executive of Henpicked: Menopause in the Workplace, said The Very Group’s approach went beyond policy alone.
She said: “I’m delighted to recognise The Very Group as a Menopause Friendly Accredited employer. Their commitment is woven into their culture and values, chosen by their people and brought to life through visible leadership, open conversations and practical support.
“This is about more than policy. By listening to colleagues and responding with meaningful action, The Very Group is creating a workplace where menopause can be talked about openly and colleagues feel supported to thrive.”
