Lipsy axes UK-based international merchandising team

The international merchandising team at Lipsy is going through consultation as the young fashion retailer relocates the operations to India.

Retail Gazette understands the team is small, so not many employees are affected.

A Lipsy spokesperson said:

“Lipsy is making strategic changes to its wholesale and international merchandising departments following a restructure designed to meet the changing needs of the business.

During 2015, we opened 8 new international franchise locations as well as opening 6 new international wholesale accounts. This year we plan to open our first Lipsy store in in Egypt as well as continuing expansion with existing franchise partners across the middle east and South Africa.

Lipsy is a true multichannel business which constantly reviews its operations to ensure that our resourcing is aligned with our long-term strategy. Our proposed restructures will support the growing needs of our international partners.”
