He started his career at Zurich Financial Services as a graduate in marketing and moved to Capital One in 2000.

He has spent the last 11 years at Ikano Bank AB, both as UK country manager and most recently as chief commercial Officer.

At Ikano Bank AB, Joy was commercially responsible for eight European countries, managing a £3.7 billion loan book.

He also led the digital team and was instrumental in developing a more agile infrastructure to deliver products to market more quickly.

“I am delighted to be welcoming Dan to N Brown as we further improve and develop our financial services offering,” Johnson said.

“He brings a wealth of relevant experience and his new perspective will be invaluable as we continue with our strategy to deliver sustainable, digital, profitable growth.”

Joy’s appointment comes after N Brown revealed in October that it was back in the black after undergoing a major restructure of the business, which saw it close down stores and become an online-only retailer.
