Majestic Wine, The Body Shop and Waitrose among “best places to work”

Majestic Wine has been named as one of the Best Places to Work in 2020 after receiving a Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Award.

Coming in at number 19 in the Top 50, the wine specialist is the highest ranked retailer on the list.

The Employees’ Choice Awards programme is based on feedback from employees who review their jobs, work environments and companies on Glassdoor.

This marks the first time Majestic Wine has made the top 50.

The retailer has been recognised for its renewed emphasis placed on staff development and recognition during the Covid-19 pandemic.

It rolled out a further 300 WSET qualifications for staff, and increased recruitment across the 200 strong store estate.

“I am incredibly proud of the whole Majestic team for gaining this recognition. We know what a difficult year it’s been across the board,” Majestic Wine chief executive John Colley said.

“The ‘we’re in this together’ culture at Majestic has been a core part of our business for over forty years now. And it’s never been stronger after the events of the previous months.

Other retailers to have made it to the list include Apple, which came in at number 7, Body Shop came in at number 23, Waitrose at 42, and Greggs at 49.
