Fashion brand Primark has launched its first standalone home store in England, based at Manchester’s Trafford Palazzo shopping centre.
The site, which spans 12,000 sq ft across two floors, sells an extensive range of the brand’s “trend-led interiors and must-have home essentials”.
Marking the opening on 29 August, the discount fashion retailer welcomed shoppers with a live DJ and offered six customers the chance to win £100 in vouchers to spend in the new shop.
The vouchers were hidden throughout the city with location clues teased on Primark’s homeware Instagram page.
Primark store manager Ceara Doyle said: “The buzz and excitement around this new opening has been incredible and finally getting to welcome our first customers through the door this morning was a real moment to remember.
“That amazing moment was only possible because of our brilliant team who have been working behind the scenes to bring the store to life, from fitting out the space, right down to the final cushion fluffs this morning.”
It said the 8,700sq ft Primark Home, based in Fountain House, represented a £2m investment in the city centre and the creation of over 40 new retail jobs.
