Online mattress retailer Casper has launched in the UK following huge success in the US.

Having achieved sales of $US100 million (£76.49 million) in its first full year of business, Casper has expanded its markets across the pond.

Casper has been widely praised in the US for revolutionising the mattress industry, not only in creating new mattress technology but also in its marketing and business strategies.

It pioneered the concept of ordering the mattress online and being able to return it within 100 days so as to avoid having a “painful visit” to the mattress shop. A policy which has seen many copy cats both sides of the pond.

The company also has significant backing from celebrities, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Ashton Kutcher and Adam Levine – all of which are vocal about their support of Casper‘s products.

“When we started this journey two years ago, we couldn’t have imagined just how fed up customers are with the old model and the products available to them,” Casper co-founder Constantin Eis said.

“We’re proud to respond to the incredible demand we’ve had from Brits, especially considering the country’s challenger attitude towards the traditional retail industry and its role in the European market.

“We’re excited about this new chapter and look forward to providing our growing customer base with a phenomenal experience.”
