LDO becomes first in UK to offer home delivery service Dropit

London Designer Outlet (LDO) is set to become the first shopping centre in the UK to introduce a home delivery service across its 50 stores.

The Wembley-based outlet centre will introduce the Dropit app just in time for the Christmas rush on December 1, which allows shoppers to leave their purchases at the store and pick a time and date for them to be delivered to their home or hotel.

Customers using the Dropit app will be charged £10.50 per delivery, which includes an unlimited number of shopping bags from the entire shopping centre and offers same-day delivery.

“Customers use our simple app and leave their purchases in each LDO store,” Dropit founder and chief executive Karin Cabili said.

“We gather together all the bags and deliver them, with real-time tracking and support available through the app. It’s clear that people still want the personal touch of physical shopping but with increased convenience.”

LDO’s centre manager Sue Shepherd added: “The Dropit service has clear benefits for our diverse guests.

“Tourists, for example, can shop and still enjoy a day of sightseeing, knowing their shopping bags will be sent to their hotels.”
