Debenhams is set to launch two new in-house womenswear labels this autumn as part of wider turnaround strategy, according to Drapers.
Debenhams’ managing director of fashion and home Steven Cook told Drapers that trading is “showing pockets of growth”, although July’s heatwave arrived too late to boost the department store’s summer clothing sales.

The retailer is now focusing on its womenswear lines as a key category for growth.
This will include the launch of a new womenswear label including clothing, footwear, accessories, sleepwear and activewear at the end of September.
There will also be a capsule collection with Kate MacMahon, the winner of last year’s Debenhams Emerging Talent Award.
The department store’s Jenny Packham range will also expand this autumn to include a full lingerie offer for the first time.
Elsewhere, Debenhams is expected to name a new chief executive in the coming weeks.
Chairman Terry Duddy is currently filling the role of interim executive chairman after Sergio Bucher’s exit in April.
The retailer is currently undergoing a CVA to close 22 of its 165 stores by January 2020, the the number of stores closing down eventually rising to a total of 50.

I always shopped in Debenham. But I find the ladies fashion is very dated. Please Please improve the brands in store. I am 60 and I would not wear what you have in store.
