Mamas & Papas launches resale and repair initiative

Mamas & Papas has launched a new ‘Loved for Life’ initiative, which offers services to reuse, refresh or recycle items such as pushchairs and baby clothes.

The brand will expand into the resale and second-hand market for the first time, offering customers the opportunity to purchase refurbished pre-loved pushchairs.

Its new trade-in service will allow customers that own a Mamas & Papas pushchair to sell it back to the retailer and receive a voucher worth up to £150.

The initiative also incorporates the brand’s existing ‘valet & service’ to maximise a pushchair’s life, which is already available for customers in 36 stores across the UK to provide a much-needed deep clean, with any damaged or worn parts replaced in-store.

Sustainable services in high-street retailers are continuing to grow and become increasingly important for consumers, with recent research finding that young people are renting, re-selling and repairing more amid cost-of-living crisis.

‘Loved for Life’ is the latest sustainability move from Mamas & Papas as it ramps up its ESG strategy.

The business has increased its focus on using recycled materials within its own-brand items – from moving to 100% recycled packaging for its line of wooden furniture to its cot mattresses being created from 100% recyclable eco fibre and chemical free.

Chief executive officer Nathan Williams said the programme reflects the mother and baby specialist’s “ongoing commitment to reducing our impact on the planet whilst making a meaningful difference to both communities and the environment”.
