Morrisons expands parcel locker rollout to 500 supermarkets

Morrisons is expanding its partnership with Quadient to bring parcel collection and returns services to hundreds of supermarkets across the UK.

The supermarket will install Parcel Pending by Quadient lockers across its estate of around 500 larger stores, following an earlier rollout across Morrisons Daily convenience shops.

Installations began in June, with an initial deployment across 125 supermarket locations before expanding across the wider Morrisons supermarket network over the coming months.

The rollout is designed to allow shoppers to collect and return parcels during regular grocery trips, as demand for out-of-home delivery and returns options continues to rise.

Quadient said the development would extend its open locker network and provide retailers and carriers with more efficient parcel infrastructure.

Quadient Parcel Locker Solutions Europe executive vice president Katia Bourgeais-Crémel said the expanded Morrisons tie-up reflected a “shared vision of making everyday services more accessible for consumers”.

“By extending our open locker network across Morrisons supermarkets, we are helping consumers collect and return parcels as part of their normal routines, while providing retailers and carriers with a scale efficient delivery infrastructure,” she said.

“Together, we’re making out-of-home delivery more convenient and accessible across communities.”

Morrisons head of popular and useful services John Parry said the supermarket was focused on adding services that make life easier for customers and strengthen the role of its stores in local communities.

“Following the success of our Morrisons Daily partnership, expanding Quadient lockers into our supermarket estate is a natural next step,” he said.

“This partnership enables us to offer customers greater flexibility and convenience while enhancing the range of useful services available through our stores.”

The expansion follows a deal announced last year to install Quadient lockers at 230 Morrisons Daily stores by spring 2025.
