Sephora has opened the doors to its first Glasgow store at Silverburn as it continues to ramp up its UK expansion.

The 4,940 sq ft shop, which opened today, marks Sephora’s second store in Scotland, following the opening of its Edinburgh St James Quarter branch last month, and takes its UK estate to 18 locations.

Sephora UK managing director Sarah Boyd officially opened the store alongside its leadership team, kicking off four days of launch celebrations at the shopping centre.

The Silverburn branch stocks Sephora-exclusive brands including Rhode, Haus Labs, Makeup by Mario, Merit Beauty, Half Magic, Yepoda and Tower 28, alongside beauty names such as Tatcha, Tarte, Summer Fridays and Kosas.

Scottish brands Vieve and BYOMA are also among those featured in the new store.

The site includes Sephora’s Beauty Scan technology, which is designed to help beauty advisers assess skin characteristics including oil and hydration levels, as well as support foundation shade matching and personalised product recommendations.

Boyd said: “The opening of our Glasgow Silverburn store is a proud milestone for Sephora UK.

“Following the incredible response to our Edinburgh opening, we knew beauty lovers in the west of Scotland were ready for Sephora too, and we’re so excited to finally open our doors.

“Every new store is about more than just opening a new place to shop. We want to create a beauty destination where people can discover something new, experiment, learn and be inspired.”

The opening rounds off what the beauty retailer has dubbed “Sephora Summer”, which has seen it launch four UK stores in just over a month.

It opened its first Scottish branch at Edinburgh St James Quarter on 9 July, followed by its first UK boutique-format store on London’s Carnaby Street on 23 July and a second boutique at Old Spitalfields Market on 30 July.

The smaller-format stores have been developed in response to changing shopping habits and are designed to offer a more convenient high-street format featuring curated ranges and personalised beauty advice.

Silverburn general manager Diarmuid Donohoe said Sephora’s arrival was “one of the biggest retail stories of the summer” and reflected the shopping centre’s appeal to major international brands.

The Glasgow opening forms part of Sephora’s wider push to build a 20-store UK portfolio, with further openings planned before the end of the year.

It has rapidly expanded its bricks-and-mortar presence since returning to the UK market, opening its first stores at Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City in 2023.

Further locations followed across Birmingham, Newcastle, Gateshead, Bluewater and Manchester in 2024, before Sephora expanded into Oxford, Cardiff, Sheffield and Liverpool during 2025.

Its latest growth drive has also taken the retailer to Bristol and Belfast this year.

Sephora will continue its UK push this autumn with the launch of SEPHORiA, its global beauty festival, in Britain for the first time.

The event will take place at London’s 180 Studios on 16 and 17 October, with tickets going on sale later this month.
