Seasalt chief information officer Mel Wilcox has stepped down after less than two years.

Wilcox, who joined the lifestyle brand in the newly created role in June 2023, has left “to seek new challenges and opportunities”, Drapers reported.

Wilcox had previously spent four years at Specsavers, first as its director of technology portfolio management and then as its technology director.

Prior to that, she worked at Tesco for eight years, holding several roles including head of technology for its global grocery online division and head of portfolio management for global technology, product and data.

Wilcox was also head of IT service delivery at Ann Summers from 2009 to 2011.

Seasalt reported its total sales had climbed 10% year-on-year in the five weeks to 28 December 2024, driven by 46% increase in revenue from its marketplace partners.

The retailer, which operates 76 UK stores, recorded a 3% uptick in store revenue and 6% jump in online sales.
