Dunhill London poaches Burberry exec to be new creative director

Upmarket menswear retailer Dunhill London has poached another senior executive from Burberry, with Mark Weston appointed as its new creative director.

Weston, who held the role of senior vice president of menswear at Burberry, will replace John Ray, who left Dunhill London  in January last year  after three years in the role.

At Burberry, Weston developed Burberry’s product ranges for men and he will present his first collection for Dunhill at London Fashion Week for men in June.

“The opportunity to creatively develop and design for the iconic British menswear luxury brand is rare and exciting,” he said.

Weston’s  move comes after his former colleague Andrew Maag – who was Burberry’s former chief executive for Europe, Middle East, India, Africa and the Americas – was appointed as its chief executive of Dunhill London in January.

“Mark brings an innate understanding of menswear and product design that will uniquely drive our brand and business growth forward,” Maag said.

“I am excited by Mark‘s appointment to lead the brand‘s creative vision to the future.”
