Koovs takes aim at UK with N Brown deal

Online fashion retailer Koovs has penned a deal with N Brown in hopes of breaking into the UK market amid a deepening financial crisis.

Koovs, which is based in London but trades in India, will now sell its range through N Brown’s plus-size Simply Be fascia.

The deal comes after Koovs saw pre-tax losses for the year ending March grew to £19.3 million from £16.7 million in 2016 as India’s demonetisation programme continued to eat into margins.

This will be the latest drive to boost its international presence and stem reliance on domestic sales in India, having announced a deal with UAE retailer Souq.com recently.

“We are absolutely delighted to be working with N Brown and to bring the Koovs young fashion brand to the UK with Simply Be, a brand that celebrates and empowers all women, whatever their size, through fun and exciting fashion,” Koovs boss Mary Turner said.
