Seasalt hires former Specsavers tech exec to newly created CIO role

Seasalt has appointed Mel Wilcox into its newly created role of chief information officer and Duncan Tennent as its director of strategic partnerships.

Wilcox, who previously served as global portfolio director at Specsavers, will be responsible for “shaping the future of IT services” for the company and its customers.

Ex-Monsoon Accessorize head of international Tennent will lead the UK and international 3rd party B2B and B2C sales efforts and commercial operations.

Seasalt CEO Paul Hayes said: “I’m very pleased to welcome Mel to Seasalt; her appointment marks a significant strengthening of our senior leadership team.

“Her extensive skills and experience, particularly in transformational programmes, will be invaluable as we continue to innovate and develop our long-term strategy to support our ambitions, including International growth”.

He continued: “Duncan is a strong addition to our sales team with a huge breadth of experience that will drive our sales efforts and growth”.

The appointments come after Seasalt reported an “outstanding” year as its sales and profits surged for the full year to January 29, 2022.

The business posted a 39% rise in pre-tax profit, while its sales soared 38%.
