Footasylum boss David Pujolar departed the company yesterday (12 February).
The CEO joined the shoe retailer in March 2024, after serving as general manager of Italian sportswear brand Aw Lab.
Prior to this, he worked for Adidas Group from 2007 to 2013, most recently serving as its Global Bu’s Director Women, Kids and Acc.
Pujolar began his career at rival shoe brand Foot Locker, working as an APP Buyer from 1996 to 2004.
“Thank you Footasylum, for the opportunity to lead such a talented group. I’m grateful for your trust, support, passion, and the lessons we shared,” Pujolar said.
“Wishing the team continued success and all the best for the future. Defy Ordinary. Shake, shock and rock.”
Stephan Rahmede, senior representative for Aurelius WaterRise, Footasylum parent company Aurelius Group’s in-house operations advisory team, is set to take over the CEO’s responsibilities on an interim basis.
He said: “The Footasylum journey began 20 years ago and has been a story of boldness, disruption, and a unique understanding of its customers.
“While many retailers have stood still in recent years, Footasylum has redefined what it means to be an athleisure retailer, creating shopping experiences that go far beyond the norm.”
He added: “We are lucky to have an extremely talented and dedicated team, driven by the vision to lead the industry.
“But there is more to come, and I am determined to support the next phase of growth and to strengthen the management team further, including a new CEO.”
