Aldi has been at it again on social media, this time the budget supermarket chain has been imploring the public (those named Colin) to change their names to Cuthbert to celebrate its birthday cake.
The retailer also appealed to a 200 year dictionary, a influencer inventor and someone named Coleen.
Reality TV star Gemma Collins got involved in the stunt, changing her name on her official Instagram page to Gemma Cuthberts and posted a video in support.

The activation, titled ‘CALLIN ALL COLLINS’ CALLIN’ ALL COLINS’ was planned by creative agency McCann and launched yesterday (10 September).
Aldi said: “Earlier this year we realised that the name Cuthbert’s is dying out, while Colin is still going strong. It’s hard to sell cakes without his name being out there! We needed to correct this and who better to start with than the one and only GC.”
Gemma Collins, or Gemma Cuthberts said: “I’ve had some iconic moments over the years, but becoming Gemma Cuthberts might just top them all! When Aldi asked me to change my name, there was only ever going to be one answer. Team Cuthbert baby!”
